current H-1B visa availability

April 25, 2010 § Leave a comment

As of last week, USCIS had received approximately 13,600 H-1B petitions counting toward the 65,000 cap.

Moreover, about 5800 petitions have been filed for “advanced degree exemption” applicants.  This category maxes out at 20,000.

There are still, obviously, a good numbers of H-1Bs available.

However, in May and June, employers contact us to obtain our legal assistance, in sponsoring H-1B applicants who have just graduated from college.

H-1Bs are foreign workers in specialty occupations, often computer specialists and other fields which require a  baccalaureate or advanced degree.
